Roger Clemens doesn't think he's being unclear about his future baseball plans. In fact, he finds the confusion funny.

Clemens told a FOX affiliate in Houston on Thursday that he does not want to play in 2007.

"I find it comical," Clemens said, according to a transcript on the KRIV TV Web site. "We get little notes at my foundation about people saying they wish I would make up (my) mind and decide because I am leaving people hanging. I'm not leaving anybody hanging. I don't want to play."

"I...told (my son Koby) 80-20 that I wasn't going to play," Clemens said. "The teams that are involved, I think they've got really good clubs that are together, and if somebody stubs their toe and my phone rings in May I might have to think about it."

well gee......i seem to recall last year he was 99% sure he wouldnt play

i think he is just trying to hear people beg for him and drive up the price

he'll pitch again

i still like Clemens alot from when he played for the Red Sox........but i wouldnt be at all surprised if that had something to do with it.......or fears they may decide to start teasting for HGH

I'm sure that money would easily change his mind about retirement.

$20 million to start 15 games or so and go to the play offs again.........seems it would be worth it to me

Clemens is good for the game. He is not the one causing the story even if he wakes up and feels 65% or 99% certain...the media is more than happy to quote him daily...and yet they get no flak...Is he driving up the price?...If he is, who cares...no owner has a gun to thier heads...its a business dealing either way...If I had the leverage he has at work, I would hold out for millions in stock option...sadly I don't...

Also doubt that he is on the juice...but hey, who needs proof these days, we can smear anyone's character without a shred of proof...

i doubt he is as well.......i just used it as an excuse for not coming back

i dont have the money in the bank he does, but how do you turn down $20 million ?

i would love it

i hold nothing against him for leaving.........he gave his heart and soul to the Sox and i believe to this day Dan Duquette screwed that up for us and Roger made him pay for it

i would take him back to Boston with open arms

Yep, Boston probably thought he was on his last legs then...his ERA kept rising etc...and then he goes to Toronto adds a few Cy Youngs...the Yanks, the Astro...freakin Energizer bunny...

Dan Duquette is just a jack-arse

i hate him for the Clemens thing and for getting rid of Mo Vaughn......i thought Mo was real good until he hurt his ankle in a freak accident

i think most of Red Sox nation wanted to keep Clemens i know i did

Is Clemens just waiting to see how the teams end up. I wouldn't want to pitch at my age if it was for a loser with no chance. I would love to see him finish in a Sox jersey. He has always been one of my favorites. I love the way he looks at the batter over the top of his glove. I want him in the American league, so I can see him pitch one more time at Jacob's field.

On the steroid issue, I don't think he was using, but I am surprised there has never been a question. He is well into his 40s and still going strong. You could also add Randy Johnson. Again, I don't believe it, but why are they not asked about it.
