LONDON (Reuters) - Major League Baseball has sold European broadcast rights to a growing television network devoted to North American sports that already has scooped up new deals to show professional U.S. football and ice hockey.
The five-year agreement, announced on Monday, gives the North American Sports Network (NASN) exclusive rights to broadcast more than 275 baseball games each season in all formats, including over the Internet and in high-definition.
Financial terms of the deal, which starts with the 2006 season and includes the entire playoffs, World Series and All-Star Game, were not disclosed.
