Absoultely correct! But the team of team is crucial, if only because one of my all-time favorites: The Cleveland Spiders. (Isn't that great? Get it? Because they catch flies! Bwah ha ha!)

Also, Cy Young his bad self was traded away before the season. I guess the Spiders deserved that record.

Cheers, all.

The other bit of trivia related to 1968 Yaz is, of course, that this represented the lowest batting average to win the title ever, in that pitcher-dominated season.

(So who were the three?) I'm assuming Roberto Clemente is not in there...? Willie Stargell, maybe...?

Cheers, all.

I don't think it's George Brett. (Did he play in the 1960s?) If not, i'll say Rod Carew...though it would have been Shoeless Joe, of that i have no doubt.

Re: Baseball Trivia: Who is the only...

It was most definitely George Brett. Ok new question:

Which St Louis Cardinal tied the base stealing record of five in one game in 1982?

Re: Baseball Trivia: Who is the only...

It was not Willie McGee it was Lonnie Smith. Good guess though because they were on the same team together.

NEW QUESTION:
Who was the first relief pitcher to be elected to the Hall of Fame?

Re: Baseball Trivia: Who is the only...

I knew there was some other guy that did it, but couldn't remember that name. Didn't Lonnie Smith play for the Phillies the year they finally won a world series in 1980? I believe his errant throw in the playoffs against Houston actually benefitted the Phillies because a runner got trapped as a result. Anyone remember this?

Re: Baseball Trivia: Who is the only...

I don't remember that but I remember seeing that Tony Gwynn also had five stolen bases in one game.
