Orioles good enough for a winning season

The Orioles have a good of enough team to have a winnig record. The season of '04 for the first half the O's had the second best record in baseball. They are good enough. Really they are. They need to get there act together and have consisting piching.

They should of never fired Lee Mazzelli! (how ever you spell it.)

Re: Orioles good enough for a winning season

Welcome to GoTeamsGo, baseballer3k6!

I agree that the Orioles have a pretty good team now that they've restructured their pen. With Tejada, Markakis, and Mora in the heart of their lineup, they may have a shot at a over .500 season.

But I don't think they'll be good enough to pass the Sox and Yanks in the division. Third of fourth place will be the Oriole's probable finish.

Re: Orioles good enough for a winning season

Welcome to GTG.

I agree they never should have fired Mazzili. But there was just too much politicking going on behind the scenes.

The Orioles will only be able to contend and have a winning record if they sure up their pitching. They worked on signing some free-agent relievers but how about the rotation?

1. They shouldve fired Mazzili,, Mazzone is 55,555 times better...he can coach pitchers too.

2. They have no rotation. As of yet anyway.

3. They have steroids in that clubhouse imo....Palmeiro, Segui, Grimsley....maybe even Tejada?

4. They may have a 450 season, but honestly, I dont think they can win. It's the culture, as in Tampa. good talent, no culture...

Just my 2 cents

Sam Perlozzo is the manager.

I guess you think it was worth firing Mazzili so they could get Perlozzo and bring in Mazzone. But I always thought Mazz did a good job.
