BBB'S NL Central Forecast..... This could be a different year in the National League Central. The Cardinals still look like the front runner. They may be weakened a bit with some departures but they still look strong. Houston without Clemens may drop down some also. The Brewers seem to be ready to make a move. The Cubs are the mystery team to me. They have talent but are often off set by injuries. The Pirates don't seem to be an easy win this year. Their pitching could be very strong and their batting lineup is stronger than in years past. The Reds still need a bit more pitching to go with some of those strong sticks. This is BBB'S Forecast (I can't help the Bucco prejudice) 1. Cardinals 2. Brewers 3. Cubs 4. Pirates 5. Houston 6. Reds How do you guys see it? So many things can happen in a baseball season. Remember the amazing Mets in 1969. BBB

paper v. real I can't remember the last time that a team that was favored to win on paper has actually fulfilled their promise. I can remember all the papers and sports publications promising that the Cubs have the best team and that this was their year only for us to be disappointed over and over again. The Cardinals are a shoe in to be in the playoffs again. They have such strength and a great defense with the most brilliant coach in MLB. But this is how I see the others fitting in: 2. Houston 3. Reds 4. Cubs 5. Brewers 6. Pirates Houston has the experience and even though this is the first time Griffey will be healthy from day one Im not so sure that Cinci has what it takes. The Cubs have their whole starting pitching staff in surgery most of the time so you never know who is gonna show and well the rest is history.

Re: BBB'S NL Central Forecast..... Why have the Cubs ended up so low on all your lists? NL Central: 1. Cubs (by a mile) 2. Cardinals ( a team with Pujols in the heart of its lineup can't do too badly) 3. Reds 4. Astros (No Pettitte, no Clemens, no winning) 5. Pirates (why not? This spot seems to be their favorite.)
