It's probably a bit too early to get any substance as far as trade rumors go. Usually, you don't get info like that until a few weeks into November...or at least after the World Series.

But we should see some juicy rumors this Winter for sure.

I think the Commissioner's Office does all that it can to keep the focus on post-season play, rather than player movement. Once the World Series is over, however, all that will change in a heartbeat.

One really hot rumor right now, according to ESPN, is A-Rod to the Chicago Cubs. New Cubbies manager Lou Piniella has said that his team will "agressively" pursue a deal with the Yankees for Rodriguez. Lou used to manage A-Rod, and really seems keen on doing so again. Other than that, I'm not hearing much.

There is a possibility Soriano might end up in a Cubbies Uniform...what do you guys think about that? He is a great talent, hes shown he can play the outfield and has had his most productive season ever. This guy is for real, and I wish the Yankees would have never traded him. I am a huge Soriano fan and think it would be great for him to leave Washington at this point

If the Cubs re-sign Derek Lee (and they should), acquire A-Rod (they shouldn't), and re-sign Kerry Wood (open to question), that consumes a whopping amount of their projected payroll, thereby rendering another expensive acquisition impractical. The Cubs' number one need is to shore up their starting pitching, so I doubt that they will make a bid for Soriano, at least until they reject the A-Rod option.
