Who Will Watch Now

ok, the Red Sox were never there, and the Yankees are gone

the question has to be, who will watch the games now ?

will a World Series with Detroit or Oakland draw half the audience the Sox or Yankees would ?

i know i wont pay much attention

Re: Who Will Watch Now

I'll be watching, especially if it's Detroit. I'd love to see the underdogs win it all. The Tigers are a great story and I can really see them drawing a lot of national interest, especially if it's a David vs. Goliath story, Detroit vs. the Mets. I think that'd draw a lot of national attention.

Re: Who Will Watch Now

The Tigers aren't an underdog, they have great pitching and some nice hitters. Oakland and the Padres/Cards would be the big underdogs. At this point, a Mets/Tigers World Series should be expected.

Yeah...if you have one New York Team, you got a series...Detroit is a decent market as well...though a bit of a young team...so it does not have a following.

I would say I rather see the A's and Mets...but I got a freind who buys Detroit Tigers off me (baseball cards)...so my sales might go up...

Re: Who Will Watch Now

I've been a Mets fan all year ( along with the Yanks) so I still have one team to watch this October...

Well if you're a fan of baseball like I heard all these people are wouldn't you be interested in who becomes the champion of the season you followed so intently? Or is it just because the Yankees aren't in it you don't care! See why New York fans are such gorilla feces? They wont watch games unless they're team is in it. I watched the LA Dodgers and Oakland As back in '88 being a Mets fan and I saw the magical Kirk Gibson homerun and it was a moment ill never forget. I guess these people think baseball lives and dies in New York...they're narrowminded and couldn't be more wrong about that.

Re: Who Will Watch Now

I'll watch MLB Playoffs because I love the game either way. But I could understand if someone's favorite team wasn't playing how they wouldn't be so fully enthusiastic about the playoffs.

Re: Who Will Watch Now

I feel if youre a fan of your team you should be a fan of the sport. If I didnt watch the 1988 World Series I would have missed Kirk Gibson's homerun when time seemed to stand still. Don't risk missing the magic that sports can provide...watch the World Series.

Re: Who Will Watch Now

I haven't watched a World Series game since 2000. If the Mets, Yankees or Dodgers aren't in it, then I don't flip the channel to it!

Marc, what about the 2003 Yankees-Marlins World Series and 2001's Yanks-Diamondbacks WS?
