As a gambler, Rose doesn't care where he gets his money, as long as he gets it. Even if it means stooping to this level. His getting into Cooperstown, which he should be in, would only allow him to hawk whatever he could with the words "Hall of Famer" after his name.

Honestly, this guy has to make a living after he threw his Hall of Fame hopes down the drain. The public has a split decision regarding whether or not Rose is Hall of Fame worthy. As you know, he dug himself into the hole by admitting that he gambled in his own book and I don't think he can get out of it.

It would've been better if he was smart and admitted his troubles after he was inducted.

Love him or hate him or wish him away...its a free market economy...the man is not forcing anyone to buy a ball...there is a market and he is making a buck....

Show of hands now...if any of you would get paid say $100 a pop for signing a ball and saying something like, "I am really sorry I cheated on my 3rd grade math test" (or whatever petty thing you've done)...etc...would you sign it?...

Taken in context with the rest of Pete Rose's life - the answer is no I wouldn't. There are other ways for him to make money other than to embarass himself again. But he's pathetic, so I'm not shocked.

He's undoubtedly a HOF caliber player but after all he's pulled (lying for all those years, then making a book about it for profit, etc.), he'll NEVER get in.

This guy's a creep. He lies every time he opens his mouth. Maybe he should be in the hall...maybe Shoeless Joe should be, too. In any event, baseball is wise to distance itself from this lowlife scum. He was going to sell those balls anyway. There are guys in the HOF who were lowly human beings, that's common knowledge. If I were MLB Commish, I'd put Rose in the HOF after he's dead. It may sound morbid but in that case, you finally have some closure on the whole affair. On his HOF plaque, you put some sort of notation about his betting scandals, his suspensions from baseball, etc.

I have been a Reds fan my whole life. Pete Rose and Johnny Bench were my heroes growing up. I do think he should be in the hall of fame. What he did on the field was incredible. After he gets in, he should be banned again. I wish he would just go away for a while. Let everything calm down. He has never left the public eye from writing books, interviews, even WWF wrestling. He is tarnishing the memories I have of him.
