Re: Is McNair the Ravens savior?

I personally think calling Steve McNair the 'savior' of the Baltimore Ravens is a little strong, but he is likely the best QB the franchise has ever had, and certainly the best since they've had since Trent Dilfer. I'm curious to know how much he has left in the tank, though. What do you folks say?

He is still good...I really don't see him as the right fit. I don't see this team making the playoffs...It would be nice if he stays healthy this year.

Cool Re: Is McNair the Ravens savior?

I think this is the perfect spot for him. The Ravens still have a good defense. I think they're a playoff team with him. He's that good. Of course, he must stay healthy.

Re: Is McNair the Ravens savior?

McNair right now is an avg. QB who gets hurt a LOT, LOT, LOT!!! He's no ones savior, especially not the Ravens. Brian Billick better be praying that McNair is some kind of savior because if the Ravens dont make the playoffs hell be on the unemployment line.

Re: McNair, Ravens likely good fit but ...

The article above presents an alternate viewpoint that mentions essentially what all of you guys have been saying: "McNair, a three-time Pro Bowl pick and 2003 NFL Co-MVP, won't have to be a savior at this stage. But he must be a regular-season and playoff survivor... The reloaded, largely re-signed and seemingly rejuvenated Ravens have the pieces to help McNair complete his Super Bowl puzzle... But in order for his new football marriage to work, especially coming off what was a bitter divorce from the Titans, there's one thing McNair must be above everything else. Something he's hardly been the past few seasons: healthy."

Re: McNair, Ravens likely good fit but ...

Which hell never be. McNair is in the Chad Pennington China Doll category. At this stage in his career McNair should be playing flag football. Still hes better than Kyle Boller for whatever thats worth! The best offseason move that benefitted the Ravens was Roethisberger doing his impression of Evil Knievel and about to miss just about all of training camp. They better take advantage of it.

Re: McNair, Ravens likely good fit but ...

I am not sure how well McNair will perform, since I have seen very little of him in the past few years. It has been a while since he was the Super Bowl MVP, and I don't expect him to win one with the Ravens. What I do expect, is a big passing connection between Derrick Mason and Steve McNair.

Oh by the way, you can all visit:http://baltimoreravens.com/news/team...s.jsp?id=10316 for McNair's new NFL profile on the Baltimore Raven's database.

Re: McNair, Ravens likely good fit but ...

McNair is a part time player now. He can't play more than 9 or 10 games in a season and thats being generous.

Re: Is McNair the Ravens savior?

I don't think McNair will be a savior to the Ravens' franchise, but he will be important. Steve is not a bad QB (hasn't benn so far) and he has to prove that he is one of the best. The Ravens invested a lot of money and have to be disappointed if he won't be a key player. But a savior? No he isnt!

Welcome to GoTeamsGo Fear...Would you rather they had taken a shot at one of the big three in the draft?
