Steve McNair retires

ESPN News is reporting that Ravens QB Steve McNair will announce his retirement today.

McNair steps away from the game as a three-time Pro Bowler and the 2003 Co-AP NFL MVP. Also, according to Wikipedia, "McNair's 3,590 career rushing yards and 37 rushing touchdowns rank fifth and third respectively all-time among NFL quarterbacks." His retirement creates a huge void for Baltimore at quarterback. Anyone surprised by his decision?

McNair to bridge gap for young quarterback

So much for the Ravens counting on him to bridge the gap, eh?
It's a surprise, but then it isn't. Like you said, vince, it was only a matter of time. But I wasn't expecting it now, and neither were the Ravens.

This defintley hurts the Ravens since boller is the backup, drafting a qb seems more likely now..

Re: Steve McNair retires

Yeah, I'm surprised he retired right now. Apparently he didnt want to make like a bridge. This really hurts the Ravens for this year, but dont supposed they had too high of hopes anyway. At least, I didnt for them.

Wow! I'm surprised he retired. if Matt Ryan falls to the Ravens, he is a lock to go to them.

More? More what?
More than 3590 career rushing yards and 37 career rushing td's which resulted in many serious injuries?
More than 31304 passing yards, 174 TDs and 119 Interceptions with a QB rating of 82.8?
I'm a big fan of Air. Dont know what else could be expected.

McNair doesn't have anything left in the tank, time for him to hang it up.

solid is not great...solid is solid ...Steve DeBerg was solid...no one calls him great...I think McNair fell short of what I expect from him...that's all I am saying.
