Ravens fire Brian Billick

ESPN is reporting that the Baltimore Ravens have fired head coach Brian Billick. Good move?

Re: Ravens fire Brian Billick

I think it is. I also think part of the problem was that the Ravens never went after a QB to complete the team. Their defense has been great, and so has their running game. But when you have guy's like Dilfer, McNair (past his prime), and Boller running the team, you are just not going to win many games. Todd Heap being out for most of the season didn't help, and when the only other guy to throw to is Mason, it's going to be hard to win games. And as we all know, if you don't win, you lose your job in the NFL. Brian will land somewhere, I'm sure he will not be the only coach to lose his job. Lewis and Fox have to be on the hot seat as well.

I think you have it exactly right. They had almost the whole package, but they never went after that franchise QB. I am not sure, but I think Boller was Billick's choice. That is why they never went after another.

Re: Ravens fire Brian Billick

He probably should have been sent packing last year or even two years ago. He won his Super Bowl, it's time for some fresh leadership in Baltimore.
