According to NFL.com, a deal between McNair and the Ravens would give the quarterback a signing bonus of nearly $11 million and a $1 million base salary. The report did not specify how the length of the contract, but McNair and agent Bus Cook were asking for guarantees beyond 2006 in any extension they signed to remain in Tennessee.

Wow, let the Era of Vince Young begin...Raven's and McNair is a good hook up...$11 mil signing bonus huh?....Doesn't that defeat the no guarantee contract bit?

Now the Ravens have their guy, and the Titans are finally able to go get Kerry Collins. Of course, that seems backwards to me... it should be the other way around. Young and McNair, Boller and Collins, makes more since that this set up, if you ask me.

Yep...I am actually shocked that they dropped McNair for Collins with Young in the wings....you would think they would have one game plan fit all...with the rookie learning from the pro...but ...don't look that way....

WTVF Ravens sign Steve McNair

OWINGS MILLS, MD, United States (UPI) -- Free agent quarterback Steve McNair signed with the Baltimore Ravens Friday.

McNair had played for the Tennessee franchise since he was a first-round pick by the Oilers in 1995, when the team was based in Houston.

He became a free agent when the Titans could not trade or release him.
