| Re: Jamal Lewis This just proves that no matter what the Bengals look like the AFC North changes for no man.
Look, this is a north south division, and your not gonna' get it done with one back. It's easy to jump off the wagon with a guy like Lewis. You know who else I remember? Priest Holmes, the guy averaged almost 150 yards per contest against the Bengals. The Ravens let him go because of a bad season and a up an comer, Jamal Lewis.
Priest Holmes went on to have several more good years with the chiefs. Dont forget Lewis's record breaking season last year. Dont forget the three headed monster of Bettis, Parker, and Staley. And when playing in the AFC north, never forget this is a smash mouth division, no matter how many endzone dances of Chad's end up on sports center.
When Billick came to the Ravens from Minnesota he was known as a offensive genius. He was the method behind the madness of Cunningham to Moss so many times. It didn't take him very long to figure out what the AFC North is all about. He likes to add to his offense in free agency the best he could, never having anything better than a patch-work QB, and he continues to keep one of the best Defenses in the league through the draft.
With the strategy of "shut em' down n' pound em'," Billick knows that have three backs the quality of Taylor, Lewis, and Anderson will be invaluable to him. I believe he is right, and probably why the Baltimore Ravens have been such a successful franchis of late. |
