| Re: Jeff Conine trade Why did the Baltimore Orioles trade Jeff Conine? See, it makes sense for the Phillies, who could use the extra bat, but it doesn't add up for the O's. If they got a prospect or cash considerations in return, I could see it, but they actually sent cash to Philly as part of the trade and all they get in return is a player to be named later, which certainly won't be a top player in the Phillies farm system. So why pull the trigger on this transaction?
