In that Yankee book I'm reading, it said that in '96, Ripken hated Davey Johnson. He hated him to begin with and then once davey moved him to 3rd base that was it. But Ripken actually called the pitches when Chris Hoiles was catching - behind Davey Johnson's back.

Well, Davey said when he first got to Baltimore, all the players went to Ripken acting as if he was the manager. Then when Johnson moved him to third, Cal was extremely angry with how it was handled (through the media).
