Reports are unable to confirm whether an official deal is in place but there is talk that a deal has been reached that will send lefty ace Erik Bedard to the Seattle Mariners for top prospect OF Adam Jones and other players.

The other players may be left-handed reliever George Sherrill, shortstop Carlos Triunfel and/or right-hander Chris Tillman.

I heard reports that Jones already took a physical for the Orioles, so I'd expect some official announcement today.

I totally agree. You do not trade a young lefty pitcher - period. Especially somebody who is as good as Bedard. Just ask the Mets if they wish they had Scott Kazmir back. But Peter Angelos is MLB's version of Al Davis
