The Baltimore Orioles have fired pitching coach Leo Mazzone this afternoon. This has been expected ever since his close friend, manager Sam Perlozzo was fired during the Summer.


I wonder if Mazzone will be interesting in another coaching job.

I think Baltimore is just a jinxed organization these days. Just put on that uniform and bad things happen.

Does this mean that they Orioles believe that he was a product of Smoltz, Maddux, and Glavine and not the other way around. I memory serves tehy even give him credit. They should have given him more time. At times he looked like he had that rotation pitching pretty well. He didn't just forget how to coach.

From local reports he didn't get along very well with the young pitchers. The veterans on the staff liked Leo, but apparently he rubbed the young guys and even the Manager the wrong way. The O's have a young starting staff, and the front office seems more intent this time around of allowing the Manager some say in who his coaches are...brave new world in Baltimore.
