According to Sportsticker reports, "Bedard set the Baltimore Orioles' single-season strikeout mark at 219 in the first inning of Sunday's contest with the Minnesota Twins... The major league leader in strikeouts, Bedard fanned Jason Bartlett in the first to surpass Mike Mussina's mark of 218 set in 1997." Could be become the first Orioles pitcher in 27 years to win the AL Cy Young Award?
