| Re: Best Orioles player in history? Wow, as tempting as it would be to go against the grain and say Brooks Robinson... nope, it's gotta be Cal Ripken. Like Tony Gwynn, Cal was the face of his franchise while I was growing up. He's got the consecutive games record and, if I'm not mistaken, he had 3,000 hits and 400 homers as well.

| Re: Best Orioles player in history? Palmer was the best. Won World Series games in three decades, three Cy Youngs, eight 20 win seasons, and all this after overcoming arm trouble. |

| Re: Best Orioles player in history? As much as I like Palmer, he also had great teams around him...something his peers like Seaver, Ryan or Steve Carlton (early on) did not have. It's tough for me to give it on that basis.... |

| Re: Best Orioles player in history? Because it would be awkward to have all those women wanting to take pics of him in his Hanes walking in on the Mrs. Seriously though, Palmer's achievements, in my opinion, outweigh Ripken's to make him the best Oriole ever. If we go back to the beginnings of the franchise, to the old Browns' teams, then George Sisler is the man.
