Rumor has it that former Orioles manager Davey Johnson could wind up replacing Baltimore's current skipper, Sam Perlozzo. Johnson himself angrily denied the report when asked about it by the Washington Post.

"I like Sammy... As far as I know, he's doing a great job. I'm not into that deal there," Johnson told the paper when asked about the rumors. "I don't know anything about this. You just called up and pulled it out of the blue that my name had been mentioned in the paper. Hell, it's been mentioned 100 times before. Give me a break."

"I don't even know that he's on the hot seat," he added. "I don't even know why we're having this conversation. I guess there's nothing to write about, so you guys start dreaming up stuff. I wish him the best. I'm not going to lend any credence to that... That's why people write, because they dream up stuff and want to put pressure on people. Leave me out of these sordid little games you play."

So, two questions:
1. Is Sam Perlozzo on the hotseat in Baltimore?
2. Will Davey Johnson, despite his comments, eventually wind up managing the O's again?

1. Every manager is on the hot seat in Baltimore.
2. It ended pretty ugly the last time Johnson was there. I don't see him going back and working for Angelos, again.
