Cabrera no-hit bid

Daniel Cabrera had tossed 8.1 innings of no-hit ball against New York... and then, Robinson Cano hit a 9th inning single. The game then promptly ended with a double play, and Cabrera and the Orioles beat the Yankees, 7-1. Cabrera wound up with a one-hitter, despite three errors and a couple of passed balls. Hell of a pitching performance from this kid Cabrera, eh?

Re: Cabrera no-hit bid

Definitely a great performance from Cabrera. If he could throw so many first pitch strikes more often, he'd be more consistant. He's one of the young guys who could blossom into a great pitcher for the Orioles soon.

Re: Cabrera no-hit bid

Do you think that the Orioles will build their roster around Cabrera in the future, EmpireWF?

Re: Cabrera no-hit bid

I doubt it. If history repeats itself, they'll just throw their free-agent money at a mild offensive bat and think their pitching will piece itself together.

Yeah, I imagine its only a matter of time before a kid like Cabrera winds up on a contender, either via trade or free agency.

Re: Cabrera no-hit bid

He has probably been around town already.

All these minor leaguers switch teams as fast calculating 2 and 2 in your head for a sum of four. However, they are traded under the infamous title, "a player to be named later".
