Melvin Mora rips Orioles teammates

According to reports, Melvin Mora of the Baltimore Orioles ripped into his teammates Saturday for having a losing mentality. Hey, can you blame the guy? He wants to win, but it doesn't sound like too many other Orioles players share that desire.

ESPN.com - MLB - Report: Mora rips Orioles for having 'losing mentality'
ESPN.com news services

"I think people here have taken the losing mentality," Mora told the Baltimore Sun. "I don't like it when people think, 'OK, we'll go home. We played a good year or whatever.' It's frustrating when you see guys like the Yankees come to town and play for something and you are going nowhere. … That for me is not baseball."

Mora told the Sun that the Orioles have a lack of leadership, and that feelings of nonchalance and negativity could infect the entire organization.

"Things need to change here. Big changes," Mora told the Sun. "The Orioles can carry on, but people have to understand, I get [ticked]. I get [ticked] when I go home. My wife says, 'Relax.' How are you going to relax when you go to the ballpark for no reason?"
So what do you guys think about Mora's comments?

Re: Melvin Mora rips Orioles teammates

He's 110% correct. You'd think Miguel Tejada to say something (other than request a trade and then rescind the request) especially after he signed with them for all that money

Anyway, Mora wants to play for a contending team and the Orioles seemingly don't have the resources or desire to change their organization around to do that. It's a shame b/c Baltimore can be a great baseball town but they're perennial losers.

And that's a direct reflection of the owner.
