Fannin's role grows with AU's spread

AUBURN - Athletic. Fast. Can run. Good hands.

If offensive coordinator Tony Franklin's spread offense was going to benefit anybody last December, it was going to benefit tailback Mario Fannin.

Fannin quickly showed us why.

He had 18 yards on three carries in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, but, more impressively, he led Auburn with five catches for 53 yards and a touchdown.
