| Tigers hold first Spring practice in full pads Auburn, Ala. - With frigid temperatures in the air, the Auburn football team worked for nearly two and a half hours Thursday morning on the Athletic Complex practice fields. It was the squad's third practice of Spring drills and first in full pads. A majority of the practice was spent in position drills and offensive and defensive work, before the last portion was dedicated to team drills. Head coach Tommy Tuberville had mixed reviews about the team's effort, noting the loss of focus during the latter half of the practice. "It was the first day in full pads and the intensity was good," Tuberville said. "The speed of the practice we're having now, a lot of the players about half-way through are just mentally shot. They're not used to the fast pace, physically and mentally, of keeping up. We've got to keep our attention a lot better during the last part of practice, which is team (periods). I liked the first part of practice, but the second part we got a little bit tired and lost our focus." The Auburn University Official Athletic Site - Football
