Where are the taunting laughs now?

Auburn fans have had a good time for the last six years.... but now the wind has changed directions. Tubberville isn't as confident as he has been in the past. Not one player that was offered a scholarship by both Alabama and Auburn chose to go to Auburn. That is a sign something is wrong on the plains. This season is going to be a long ardous and arguably difficult season that may well see the decline of Auburn football for some time to come.

I'd say that's six good reasons for Auburn to be confident heading into this years game, wouldn't you?

Lefty how many people graduated and how well did they recruit? Not one prospect that had an offer from both Alabama and Auburn chose Auburn.

Dangerous talk Stoney - UGA didn't have a single coveted player defect to the Tide or Auburn. UGA lost two rated players - one to Fla and one to Clemson. The Fla loss was expected - UGA offered - the kid played games - UGA moved on only to have the kid come back but the slot was filled by someone that wanted to be a Bulldog. The Clemson defection was a TE and although he was a player UGA was 4 deep with quality TE's.

Re: Where are the taunting laughs now?

To the people saying auburn is going downhill. Yes,you outrecruited us this year. I think Saban is one of the best recruiters in the country. He isn't that great of a game coach. I don't care what players you have if you consistly finish in the top 25 in recruiting you should not lose not ULM. Alabama had a top 10 recruitng class. ULM had a bottom 10. Saban was the highest paid coach. ULM's coach was the lowest paid coach. No Excuses. Don't blame shula or probation. You were praising him when you won 10 games. Tubby had a # 1 recruitng class too btw. Untill you win earn the field you have no right to say that we are a cow college. Just because you hate us does not make that right to say. Bama thinks they are going to be the **** because they have a decent coach. Alabama out recruits sometimes and Auburn does. Most Auburn fans will come to auburn and most bama fans will go to bama plain and simple. Some coaches look for potential. That my friend is what tubby is doing. We have 2nd fastest team in the nation. If you have a spread offense you have to be fast.I know so far we are out recruiting you this year. Beat us and then you talk ,but saying we will beat you next year is getting old.

Time is getting short... the end of the drought is coming Alabama is going to overtake Auburn and go on to win the SEC and have a shot at the National Title game. Your spread offense won't help you with the issues your offensive line faces. Terrance Cody will make sure that the four quarters your team plays against him will be the longest four quartes of Auburn fans lives.

What took his confidence ?

Could it be that a kid looked at Auburn's depth and figured it would be at least 2 years before he would play significant minutes and Bama is so depleted players have a better chance of playing early.

One class means little in the SEC - time will tell

As a side note I don't think one player targeted by UGA went to Bama what does that say

How about the fact that Tubberville is finding it increasingly difficult to recruit? Considering he is stuck between Alabama Florida Georgia and Tennesee the chances of getting the recruits he wants are getting slimmer. Not to mention FSU Miami South Florida are in the mix too.
Auburn if they have the talent you say they have is either in real deep trouble or they should be contending for the SEC West. Personally I don't see them being a factor this year. So that could be what's eating at Tommy's confidence level. Maybe he is watching game tapes from last season and sees all the gaffs his team made.
