Auburn's Tommy Tuberville had done a good job dodging coaching rumors the last few weeks, but he had to face up to them when a higher authority demanded an answer.
"My wife said, `I heard a lot of people are looking at you for a job this year.'"
Tuberville's answer? "I just hope one of them is Auburn."
Tuberville, in his ninth year as Auburn's head coach, has been through this coaching rigmarole numerous times, some because of the courtship of others, once by the school's own doing.
It has made Tuberville savvy in his answers, but the bottom line he says is he likes Auburn. And Auburn must feel the same way, considering he's the third winningest coach in the country since 2000.
