| Auburn kicking into high gear A day after upset, Tigers, Byrum feeling fine AUBURN - Wes Byrum relished it all - the noise, the taunts from fans behind the Auburn bench, the pressure. As the clock at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium melted away in the fourth quarter Saturday night, Byrum, Auburn's freshman kicker, knew it was coming. On the sideline, he warmed up for what would be the biggest field goal of his life. "It was by far the loudest place I've ever been in," Byrum said Sunday. "I loved it - everybody being right there and the sound. It was awesome." From the stands close behind the Auburn bench, the insults came in a stream. "Guys were screaming all kinds of things," Byrum said. "Girls were saying whatever they could think of. I didn't look at any of them. I just kept kicking and didn't pay attention." Byrum kicked what appeared to be the game-winning 43-yard field goal, only to have it waved off because Florida coach Urban Meyer had called a timeout. Byrum calmly stepped back and, as the noise rose to a crescendo, did it again to lift Auburn to a 20-17 victory over the No. 4 Gators. AU kicking into high gear- al.com
