| Secondary takes rest before test AUBURN -- Senior Brandon Cox and true freshman Kodi Burns took an equal number of snaps at quarterback in Wednesday's practice, Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville said. "It's really no different than what we normally do," Tuberville said. "You always work two quarterbacks with the offense." Much of the practice was focused on preparing Auburn's defense for New Mexico State's no-huddle attack. "We spent more time on the game plan and going against the scout team on defense, just trying to get the tempo down," Tuberville said. "This is a big challenge for us this week with some of the things they do." Auburn wants its defensive players, particularly its secondary, to be well-rested for Saturday. "We're trying to get their legs back a little bit," Tuberville said. "We didn't run today. Especially defensively, we have to make sure they're fresh, because Saturday night they're going to be taking a lot of snaps." -- INJURY WATCH: Tuberville said offensive tackle King Dunlap (elbow) did not practice Wednesday. Andrew McCain is likely to start in his place. Secondary takes rest before test- al.com
