| Tuberville tackles QB quandary AUBURN -- Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville said Tuesday he would no longer deny the obvious: quarterback Kodi Burns will play this week against New Mexico State. How much the true freshman will play -- and in what role -- remains an unanswered question. "There's no hiding that we have Kodi Burns now that will be playing, along with Brandon Cox," Tuberville said. "We haven't decided yet who will be starting. Both will play. It really doesn't make any difference (who starts)." Tuberville's comments were his most prolific about the quarterback situation since Burns replaced Cox and played for most of the game in Auburn's 19-14 loss to Mississippi State last Saturday. Tuberville made it clear that performance would determine future playing time, and that he had no interest in constantly rotating the quarterbacks. "We're not going to have a two-quarterback system where we're going to alternate every other play or all that," he said. "We're just going to look for the right one that's playing and fits best with what we're doing and go with it. We're just looking for something that's going to work." None of the quarterbacks were allowed to speak to reporters on Tuesday, Auburn's primary media day. Tuberville tackles QB quandary- al.com
