| Turnovers troubling Tiger staff AUBURN -- With Auburn's offense tottering, every possession is valuable. That's why offensive coordinator Al Borges is vexed that Auburn is giving so many of them away. "Our No. 1 point of emphasis and No. 1 goal is to limit our turnovers," Borges said. "If we can do that, we can play much better. We're losing opportunities. We just can't have that." The Tigers have turned the ball over 12 times -- seven interceptions and five fumbles -- in their first three games. Auburn's turnover ratio (12 lost, four gained) is second-to-last in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, formerly known as Division I-A. Auburn has five turnovers in each of its last two losses. Borges said he can't remember such a streak in any of his previous stops at the high school or college level. "The kids are playing hard. We're just turning the ball over too much," he said. "That's what's getting us." If there's a silver lining to Auburn's turnover trouble, it's that Auburn's defense has helped limit some of the damage. Turnovers troubling Tiger staff- al.com
