| Auburn uncertain about future QB plan Auburn finally opened its bag of tricks Saturday and let Kodi Burns run free. Two quick touchdowns, 22 runs from the quarterback position and plenty of promise gave way to only five second-half first downs, a costly interception and a 19-14 loss to Mississippi State. All of which leaves Auburn with this question: Where does it go now? Will the Tigers stick with the true freshman Burns, go back to fifth-year senior Brandon Cox or use both? "We've just got to look at the tape and evaluate where we want to go and what we want to do," said Auburn offensive coordinator Al Borges. "Kodi did a nice job of coming in and energizing us. Brandon took us down the field (on the last drive) - we didn't quite get the job finished. It's something we have to evaluate and make a decision on." Cox threw two quick interceptions (although one bounced off a receiver's hands) and was yanked in favor of Burns, who was thrown into his first game in the first quarter. The plan was for him to play a little here and a little there, but not take snap after snap, which he did. He took every snap from the middle of the first quarter until the Mississippi State took the lead with five minutes remaining. "I would have liked to brought him on and off through the game. It didn't work that way," Borges said. Auburn uncertain about future QB plan- al.com
