| Henig makes it to Auburn as rival QB AUBURN - Michael Henig figures he's been to more than 100 football games at Jordan-Hare Stadium. There was a time when he would sit in the stands and imagine himself playing quarterback for the Tigers. After all, Auburn was a Henig family tradition. Henig's father, Mike, his mother, Jenny Lynn, and his sisters, Jessica and Alex, are Auburn graduates. His mother and Jessica were Auburn cheerleaders. But when Henig finished his career as a quarterback at Montgomery's Jeff Davis High School, Auburn wasn't interested. Saturday, Henig will play on the field at Jordan-Hare Stadium, where he spent so many Saturdays. He'll be Mississippi State's starting quarterback when the Bulldogs play Auburn at 11:30 a.m. "I wanted to go to Auburn," Henig said. "They didn't offer, and I went where I was wanted. Once I realized that Auburn wasn't interested, I was over Auburn. Of course, going there for 17-18 years, hardly ever missing a home game, with all my friends having gone to Auburn, I'm ready to go down there and play on that field."
