AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn's first three football games during the 2007 season will all be televised, it was announced Wednesday at the SEC spring meetings in Destin, Fla. The Tigers' first two games will be night games televised by the ESPN family of networks, while the SEC opener against Mississippi State will be broadcast by Lincoln Financial Sports.
Auburn will open the season Sept. 1 against Kansas State, with ESPN broadcasting the game beginning at 6:45 p.m. CT. It will mark the third straight season that Auburn has opened the season with a home night game on one of the ESPN networks, as last year's opener against Washington State was televised by ESPN2 and the 2005 opener against Georgia Tech was broadcast by ESPN.
The Tigers will follow that with an 8 p.m. CT game against South Florida on Sept. 8 that will air on ESPN2. It will mark the first-ever meeting between Auburn and the Big East Conference school.
On Sept. 15, Auburn will host Mississippi State in the Tigers' SEC opener with an 11:30 a.m. CT start that will be televised by Lincoln Financial Sports. It will mark the fourth consecutive season that LFS has televised the Auburn-Mississippi State game.
