| Auburn Football Practice Report AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn football team practiced in full pads for the first time this spring as the Tigers held their third workout of the week Thursday morning under intermittent rain sprinkles at the practice fields behind the Athletics Complex. Following Thursday's workout, offensive coordinator Al Borges expressed disappointment that the offensive unit did not show as much toughness during the first day with pads as he would have liked. "We have to get tougher offensively," said Borges. "We're too soft right now, and part of it is because we've got new guys and we've put in a lot of offense in three days. We're a little indecisive, but we'll fix that. I'm not worried about the assignment part of it, but we have to get tougher all the way around - not just the offensive linemen, but everybody. We just have to get more aggressive. On the first day of pads everybody should be breathing fire, but it wasn't from an offensive perspective everything that I wanted it to be." | Auburn Football Practice Report On the eve of its second scrimmage of spring drills, the Auburn football team went through a light 90-minute session on the practice fields Friday afternoon. The players worked through a primarily mental practice, working out in shorts, jerseys and helmets. Head Coach Tommy Tuberville discussed after practice the importance and emphasis of Saturday's scrimmage. "We gave them a break and tried to get their legs back (today)," Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville said. "This is a very important scrimmage for a lot of the young guys tomorrow. It's important that we get something done and find out where we're at. There are 7-8 guys that won't scrimmage. "We're going to work on the kicking game, situations, and endurance, but the main thing we're going to work on is technique and fundamentals, which we weren't very good at last week. Our effort was good, but the execution dropped because of our technique on the offensive line. That's youth and that's the reason we practice."
