Auburn G Ben Grubbs

AUBURN - Auburn senior offensive guard Ben Grubbs has been named to the Associated Press All-America Second Team, it was announced.

Grubbs, who hails from Eclectic, Ala., earned second-team status after starting in all 12 regular season games for Auburn this season and the past 37 straight. He was named the Southeastern Conference's Offensive Lineman of the Week twice this season - the only player in the league to do so - collecting the honor Sept. 11 after Auburn's 34-0 win over Mississippi State and Nov. 9 after a 27-0 win over Arkansas State. He was graded better than 90 percent in eight of Auburn's first 11 games this season.

The honor comes a week after Grubbs was selected to the AP All-SEC First Team and Coaches All-SEC Second Team. He has also been recognized as a Rivals.com All-American.

Impressive set of honors for this kid, Grubb. What kind of NFL future awaits him?

Ben Grubbs Named To ESPN.com All-America Team

Grubbs played in and started all 12 games for the Tigers this season. He has started the last 37 games for the Tigers, helping guide Auburn to a 32-5 record over that stretch. This season, Grubbs helped the Auburn offensive line pave the way for 10 100-yard rushing efforts by running backs and was the only Southeastern Conference player to earn Offensive Lineman of the Week twice.
