The 10th-ranked Auburn football team (10-2) accepted an invitation Sunday to play Nebraska (9-4) from the Big 12 Conference in the 71st annual AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic in Dallas. The game will be played at the Cotton Bowl beginning at 10:40 a.m. CT on January 1, 2007. It will mark the school's second trip to the Dallas-based bowl.

The practice marked the end of a layoff that lasted nearly a month for the Tigers, who were last seen at Bryant-Denny Stadium Nov. 18 in a 22-15 win over Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Since that victory, Auburn players have taken time from formal practices for the Thanksgiving holiday and academic finals.

Auburn lost only two games-but they were blowouts. On the other hand, they defeated Florida. It will depend on which Auburn team shows up.

The No. 10 Auburn football team arrived in Dallas for the 71st AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic Tuesday after the Tigers took four days off for the holidays. Auburn will face the No. 22 Nebraska Cornhuskers on New Year's Day.

Auburn makes its seventh straight bowl appearance and 33rd overall when the Tigers meet Nebraska in the 2007 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. It will be the second trip to the Dallas-based bowl for Auburn and will mark the Tigers' third-straight January bowl game. Auburn has not been to a bowl game in Texas since the Tigers' only other trip to the Cotton Bowl in 1986.
