Kovalchuk Named Captain Of Thrashers
Following player introductions at Sunday night's 9th Annual Thrashers Casino Night, GM Don Waddell made a special announcement and presented Ilya Kovalchuk with a new jersey adorned with a C, designating him the Thrashers team captain.

About time. Kovalchuk has been unhappy in Atlanta...maybe this was to keep him happy there.
