Atlanta center Rich Peverley, who has seven points in the Thrashers’ first five games, has signed a multiyear contract extension.
Thrashers general manager Don Waddell did not disclose terms of the deal on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old Peverley has four goals and three assists in the Thrashers’ 4-1 start. He leads the team with three power-play goals and two game-winning goals.
Peverley was claimed off waivers from Nashville in January. The native of Guelph, Ontario, has 42 points in 44 games with Atlanta.

Hey their off to a 4-1 start. They definitely look like a team in play-off contention.

Really ? I didn't actually know that! Meh, Vancouver's had a 3-5-0 start! I think, it could be better They always make the playoffs and then lose to some pity team! Like Dallas, or Chicago I mean I know they're both decent teams but come on !

My Rangers are 7-4 now I think. They are looking pretty good so far. Some people are expecting a big downturn though after that game against the Sharks. They also lost to the Devils which was disappointing. Still, I see them winning the Stanley Cup.

I would like to see Vancouver atleast get to the Semi Finals, they always get to the quarters and then get beat out and yes, The sharks seem to have a pretty impressive line up this year, but some thought that about Toronto too and look where they are now
