Josh Childress to play in Greece?

Could Atlanta Hawks F Josh Childress be leaving the NBA to play in Europe?

According to Yahoo! Sports, "Childress is strongly considering a three-year, $20 million offer from Greek powerhouse Olympiakos, several league sources said Sunday night... Childress flew to Greece late Sunday and is scheduled to meet with Olympiakos officials on Monday. Childress, 25, is so flustered with the Hawks’ refusal to make a sign-and-trade deal to another team, one source familiar with his thinking believes there’s 'better than a 50-50 chance' he’ll sign with Olympiakos." Wow, what a stunner this would be!

Re: Josh Childress to play in Greece?

Well, it's official - Childress has signed a 3 year deal with Olympiakos worth about $20 million. Apparently it also includes an opt-out clause after each season in case we wants to return to the NBA, but it doesn't sound like that will be an issue. Childress held a conference call with reports yesterday and says that he believes there could be more players following his lead. If so, what does this mean for the future of the NBA?

It means less European players whose names we can't pronounce will be in the states.
