Mistakes, late struggles keep Hawks from running

East Rutherford, N.J. — After weeks and weeks of constant chatter about speeding up the pace, the Hawks have reverted to form.
They're not a running team by any stretch of Mike Woodson's wildest imagination.
If you use Tuesday night's 87-82 loss to New Jersey at Izod Center as your guide, they're anything but an up-tempo team. The only thing clear about the Hawks right now is that they're not sure what they are.
They're not the high-octane machine that raced to a 7-1 exhibition-season record. And they don't look anything like the emotionally charged group that knocked off Dallas on Friday at Philips Arena.
