Re: Duckett Trade to Colts

I haven't heard/seen anything about a possible TJ Duckett trade either.

But the Colts 1st round pick, RB Joseph Addai has been having a great camp from what I've read.

I like Addai but I think Rhodes will be the feature back. A great camp and a metrocard will get you on the subway! Good move for the Colts if this is true but the Falcons must use that 3rd stringer Cobb a lot cuz Dunn is getting long in the tooth. Not that it matters cuz Vick does most of the running anyway!

Re: Duckett Trade to Colts

This is a wise move for the Colts.

They could use a decent running-back now since Edgerrin James will be playing in Arizona. But to tell you the truth, they could pass the whole game since they have such a good passing-game. Their rushing-game was good, but I don't expect it to be as strong as before.

By the way, this is all I read from the Indianapolis Star:
Quote:
"Rhodes, the veteran backup, probably will be positioned at tailback when quarterback Peyton Manning takes the first snap with the No. 1 offense. But soon, Addai, the team's first-round draft pick, will trot onto the field."
Thanks for the pending-news, eastico.

Re: Duckett Trade to Colts

Ah I dont know. An ideal team would be like the Cowboy dynasty of the 90s. The run sets up the pass and vice versa. Aikman, Irvin and Smith. Now its Manning, Harrison/Wayne and ? If they key on the pass Peyton will have some trouble no matter how good his recievers are. Remember when he tossed 49 TDs and seemed unstoppable? Boy the Patroits sure stopped him in that playoff game! They got really physical with Harrison and Wayne and it seemed like the wideouts just gave up. The running game didnt do much either. Now that running game is diminished so you can bet each team they play will be keying on the pass. Well see how the Colts adjust to that.

Re: Duckett Trade to Colts

I don't think Indy should pull the trigger on this one. If Rhodes is starting and Addai has been impressive, plus you've got that other dude whose name eludes me right now... how deep do you need to be at running back? Duckett would likely see playing time, especially in goal line situations, but at what cost? Nah, Colts should go with who they've got.
