| Re: Falcons QB reaches out to youth WILLIAMSBURG -- Growing up poor, Michael Vick never envisioned a day like this. Playing golf at a plush resort like Kingsmill was one thing. Announcing his own charity to help at-risk kids, that seemed right out of fantasyland.
Of course, Vick never could have imagined being the first pick of the 2001 NFL draft and eventually signing a contract worth more than $100 million. Friday morning, during a press conference at Kingsmill, he put it all where his mouth is. The Vick Foundation, which will support after-school programs in Hampton Roads and Atlanta, is off and running. Can we take it as another sign of a maturing Michael Vick? |
