New Falcons Head Coach

Who will be the new head coach of the Atlanta Falcons?

There have been a lot of guys who's names have come up, but there's one guy it definitely WON'T be - New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who yesterday declined an opportunity to be interviewed for the job. According to Yahoo! Sports, "the 31-year-old McDaniels has decided he won't interview for any vacancies this year."

Re: New Falcons Head Coach

I'm guessing but think Jason Garrett or Jim Caldwell are the front runners at this point in time. Garrett may well end up in Miami with the Tuna dude.

I'm hoping the Falcons get a GM in place before making a coaching hire. Getting a coach first seems like putting on your shoes then trying to put on your socks.

Why? He should strike while the iron is hot!

I think this is good. Stay with the good team. If you go with the falcons and they get 3 wins next year, you dont wanna be held responsible and lose ur job. good thinkin

Re: New Falcons Head Coach

McDaniels is probably not in any hurry to take over a losing franchise. He's only 31-years old and has perhaps the best non-HC/GM job in the league (better than some head coaches for sure). He controls the dominating Pats offense and everyone knows it.

He has plenty of time to get a solid head coaching job in the near future.

Re: New Falcons Head Coach

It's a big loss for the Falcons imo but I seriously doubt Blank would've hired him anyway. What intelligent management decision has Blank made yet except to fire McKay as GM and even that seems like some kind of goofy facade. The guy is still there and is even involved in the GM AND HC search.

Yup. Marvin Lewis did much the same thing when he was a hot candidate. Sit back and cherry pick the best available openings.
