Falcon Coaching Rumors...........

Anybody heard much? I heard they interviewed The Tuna and Cowher. Cowher said no he was not going to coach in 08. I haven't heard what the Tuna said.

I think the Falcons will have a hard time getting a top notch coach unless they make some significant changes i.e. Blank stays in the owners box during games (I think Blank means well but ), McKay moves away from player selections and acts more as an administrator even then who would buy into this sinking ship.

Merry Christmas Falcon Fans

I think Singletary would be a good hire.

Re: Falcon Coaching Rumors...........

I think somebody should look at Rivera. He worked wonders for the Chicago defense, and he seems to be a no nonsense guy. He could be tough enough to make these guys listen. He took a team to the super bowl.

Yeah, word is he doesn't want to coach at all in 2008. Must be enjoying his TV gig too much.

Can't say I blame him. Hell he was runner up to the Cowboys in the Superbowl in the early years of his coachin career, then finally gets the monkey off his back and wins the big dance.

Re: Falcon Coaching Rumors...........

Most news outlets are reporting that Cowher turned the job down and I'm not the least surprised. I never thought Cowher would give the job serious consideration anyway.

Singletary was the guy Blank really wanted back when he hired Petrino. Why he let McKay convince him otherwise only he knows.

My personal pick would be Jason Garrett (#1 choice) or Josh McDaniels (#2 choice).

I never liked Petrino EVER so this is a great Christmas present to have him gone regardless of how crappy he went about doing it.

My money says: Singletary will be offered it. Will he accept? Who the hell knows. Probably depends largely on whether he wants to deal with a GM like McKay and whether he wants to put up with an owner that walks the sidelines patting the players on the ass and refusing to stay in the box overlooking the game.

Personally I think McKay needs to go and Blank needs to stay in his cushy seat at the stadium and watch the damn game from above and quit this fraternizing on the sidelines. But neither of these is likely to happen so we may end up with another toad of a coach again.
