Hey Garron, I have a question for you. My brother lives in Warner Robbins and I was there last year when the Panthers played the Falcons. I drove to Athens to eat dinner with my ex's family before heading back to NC. Everyone there complained about Vick. Is the dislike for Vick that bad for Vick outside of Atlanta or is it something else?

Vick's total stupidity aside...

I am getting tired on the whole..."When is a bonus not a bonus" deal...scrap the freaking signing bonus as a whole then...this is Barry Sanders and Ricky Williams all over again...look, if you give it to them for "signing" to by pass the rules of the game for salary cap...then you should be screwed for offering it to begin with...live with it...

I live in SE GA and the dislike for Vick began before the dog fighting issue. Those of us who dislike him didn't dislike him as a person but as a player. I think he sucked as a player. When he was initially drafted I thought yeah he's the falcon savior. And his first couple of years he brought a spark. He was never - ever - worth the money Blank threw at him. Even though I think his treatment of the dogs (the electrocutions, drownings, beatings, shootings) is barbaric and sickening, it's not why I am currently gleeful over his demise - it's because I wanted another QB at the helm. Of course because our franchise was "vick vick vick" we are, as you see, stuck with a bunch of has-beens because no kind of effort was made to get a marquee QB to back him up.

When I was in GA, it was last September before the dogfighting issue and that was the consensus I got too.

The hate - love of Vick is sadly split along racial lines. IMHO people that understand talent (as it relates to the skill set needed to QB in the NFL) grew weary of Vick.

That being said the Falcons sold out the stadium by turning the games into a Hip - Hop convention and Vick was the draw. They (Falcons) are going to need years to rebuild the fan base in Atlanta. I will go back if and when they change the marketing to reflect FOOTBALL.
