Well, any respect I had for Bobby Petrino just flew out the window. If he's going to let his players push him around on the sidelines and cost his teams games, then he's not going to last long in the National Football League. This sends completely the wrong message to the rest of the Falcons.

My gut reaction was about the same - then I gave it some thought.

Petrino met with three senior team members - Crumpler, Malloy and Brookings - I would suspect they said Hall was a jerk but a valuable jerk non the less. We will back you up but how about a big fine in lieu of a suspension we need the turkey on the field.

Just a passing thought from a guy that is about done with the NFL

It took Bobby Petrino less than half a season to prove he won't be able to cut it as a pro coach. Shame.

I can't make up my mind on this one. He surely discussed the issue with the veterans and it is possible they told him come down semi hard to prove a point but not so hard as to punish the team resulting in a bigger divide.

I guess maybe he's trying extra hard to not be Tom Coughlin, but you can't let the inmates run the asylum either. Hall should've gotten a one-game suspension, or at least benched for a half like they sometimes do in the college ranks. You have to sent a message.

Based on what I read in the local fish wrapper he was fined $100,000 and will not start next Sunday. I have no idea how long he will sit - 1 series - 1 quarter - 1 half. I'll see what I can find out.
