Re: Vick Seeks Meeting With Commissioner

it may sound cold, but i dont see anything in it for the NFL ...... no need for the meeting now, and maybe not ever imo ......... the commish can make his decision and send it by messenger to the Vick lawyer

Should the commish even consider a meeting? I say no - let the courts run the course and then meet or just announce the suspension. I can't for the life of me figure out why Vick thinks should get an audience with the commish - he had one and told nothing but lies.
Realizing this isn't the norm for suspensions, what has happened in the past as far as suspensions ? Do the players generally meet with the commish to discuss the penalty ? Personally I think the commish should just make the call and let it stand.

Re: Vick Seeks Meeting With Commissioner

If I were the Commish, (I assume he knows all the info, more than us), I'd suspend Vick for at least two years. One year for the guilty plea to crimes (and lying to his face0 and another year for the gambling implications.

Re: Vick Seeks Meeting With Commissioner

As I have stated before, I believe this wont be a big problem for the NFL, they could give him no suspension and I still give vick a 99.3% chance he wont play again in the NFL ever again, either the jail time length or his rep will kill his chances of a team taking him, think about it, if your a team owner do you want peta at your floor steps every waking hour on top of the negative publicity you would take for re-signing him, and the CFL already looks like it wont let him play there by the rules they have in place, however, vick can still play ball in prison, just a different uniform and a longer number..and the winner doesnt get a trophy, they get smokes..
