Re: Michael Vick - Can Things Get Worse

I see one thing very clearly - Vick is screwed - no more Falcons - no more endorsments - no more NFL - no more homies.

What would I do - fire all the lawyers and donate the money to animal rights groups - admit everything - go on the road working to end dog fighting - throw myself at the mercy of the people (peoples in his case) - cut a deal with the Falcons giving back a portion of the bonus money with the stipulation that it goes to animal rights groups.

What will he do?

Re: Michael Vick - Can Things Get Worse

Those are all such pleasant thoughts but .... you're leaving out two forces that he must also deal with. PETA and then there is the judicial system. PETA might agree with everything you are saying but after listening to a PETA spokesperson yesterday, no jail time isn't an option. If in fact he is guilty ... then I agree. Now the court system more than likely will not agree to any of your warm and fuzzy ideas. Again if he is guilty, there is no reason they should cut him any slack. Unfortunately because of his celebrity status he will probably suffer a heavier sentence than some poor backwoods good old boy might. As for the Falcons donating money to animal rights ... why should they do that ??? They didn't encourage him to break the law. If he has done something in conflict with his contract then the Falcons should just negate the contract and receive back whatever funds are due them. They are not a part of this alleged crime.

By tomorrow we'll know what he's gonna do. I'll bet it isn't anything he really wants to do.

Couldn't agree more..... on the other hand I was offering a hypothetical way to repair his public image.

I'm not so sure Blank wouldn't agree to donating some of the returned bonus money to PETA or whatever - he is a very generous and giving man. The NFL would probably agree as well - they are in a pickle with Vick and a few other less than stellar players and could use some good PR.

Bottom line Vick is screwed and it is his own fault - what a complete moron.
