| Re: Matt Schaub Heh, i would love to be in the league with you. You take Vick and i'll take Peyton Manning and we'll see who does better in the league? I've been on the Schaub bandwagon since he was QB at UVa and i sat in the stands with my season tickets. Wanna know why Schaub's stats are low? He almost only plays in preseason games with second and third stringers. also, he only gets 7-10 passes a game. Look at most NFL QB ratings through a single quartar, they usually only do that. He hasn't had his chance to really show what he has. |

Schaub's PCT rate is in the regular season, not pre-season, look it up. ...so your 2nd and 3rd string theory does not wash... The reason it is low, is the same reason Vick's is low...Atlanta does not have quality receivers... The comment on West Coast QBs was aimmed at my buddy Trashed who feels if he doesn't sit in the pocket, he ain't a QB...Vick plays with what he is given, which in the Falcons case is a decent TE and a pair of good backs...and no real threat at receiver...so he takes off with the ball more often then a coach finds comfortable...well...he is trying to do the one thing QBs should do...create an opportunity to score...same mentality that Favre has...this crowd is also down on Favre for getting picked off a good 30 times last year...but the Packers too were depleted at receiver and he was trying to create... A few years ago the knack on Peyton Manning was he threw to many picks...but like an good QB, he was trying to get the ball in the end zone... You guys are faulting a guy for being a gamer and trying to win, (which is what he is doing when he takes off with the ball and gets you 5 to 6 yards a carry, and opens up the field for Dunn)...and elevating an unproven 3rd year player over him...which in my books is nuts. |

| Re: Matt Schaub If Atlanta insists on running the west coast offense, then they should start Schaub. Otherwise, Jim Mora Jr. needs to cater to his QB's strengths, especially when this particular QB has so many of them. Many teams succeed running different styles of offense, there is no reason Vick couldn't consistently win if his coach wasn't so remarkably stubborn. This is simply another example of a lack of creativity on The NFL's behalf. The unilateral belief that straying from the pack is unacceptable and there is only "one winning formula" is mind boggling. I mean, is it just me or has Vick digressed every year since Mora replaced Reeves? |

| Re: Matt Schaub The Saints just showed every team in the NFL how to beat Michael Vick and the Falcons. If you bring in the corners, he's done. He's only effective when he can get outside of the pocket. Vick has still proven that he is a terrible passer. It's only a matter of time. |

| Re: Matt Schaub Oh no no no, I was in no way implying that it was soley the corners coming in was the only reason for their dominance of the falcons, but it does play a major role being able to contain the scramble out of the pocket. ps. great talking to you again, it's been awhile i've been busy at school and such. The reds really blew it this year. They need to acquire a real #1 pitcher over the break, maybe zito?? |

And yeah, I know...you weren't implying that... I was jsut making chatter...earning my keep that sort of thing... |

| Re: Matt Schaub Good observation by Zeus on how the Saints shut down the Falcon offense and Michael Vick. As for Schaub. Ive said it before and ill say it again that this guy is a good solid QB. Another QB who the Jokeland Raiders would be tapdancing if they somehow landed him. |

| Re: Matt Schaub I will have to back up Vick with all of this talk about him not being able to pass the ball. He is a tremendous passer and he can throw the ball 50+ yards downfield and hit the man right in the hands. He has a high number of int though, but these numbers are decreasing. Some are his fault, but a lot of them aren't. I watch every single Falcon's game and when people say Vick has a low percentage, that is crap. The Falcon's recievers cannot catch the ball. Vick hits them in the hands and they drop it or tip it up for a pick. Last weekend proved they can win when the recievers can catch the ball, mostly Crumpler. As for Schaub, he was good in college, he has potential, but as for the people saying that he should be starting, they obviously have never watched him play in the NFL. He has never came in after Vick and won the game, unless it was just a blowout. Even if they are winning when he comes in if Vick gets hurt, he cannot get a win. |
