NEW YORK — Michael Vick was ordered by commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday to stay away from the Atlanta Falcons' training camp until the league reviews the dogfighting charges against him.


"While it is for the criminal justice system to determine your guilt or innocence, it is my responsibility as commissioner of the National Football League to determine whether your conduct, even if not criminal, nonetheless violated league policies, including the Personal Conduct Policy," Goodell said in a letter to the quarterback.


The NFL said Vick would still get his preseason pay and Goodell told the Falcons to withhold any disciplinary action of their own until the league's review was completed.

To answer that question Simon......not in the NFL.

Even if the court case doesn't begin until late in the season or afterwards, there's no logical way Goodell and/or Blank can allow Vick to play. And unless he's found innocent, he'll never play another down in the NFL.

Yeah, I think this is correct. The NFL and the Falcons will have to cut ties with him during the trial, or else they'll risk protesters before every game, boycotts, loss of sponsors and so forth. Clearly Arthur Blank is working with the union on some sort of deal that'll send Vick away (I'm hearing the NFLPA wants Atlanta to pay Vick's base salary, and if he's found not guilty, all of his bonus money afterwards). Regardless of anyone's opinions, it definitely seems as though the Michael Vick era in Atlanta is officially done.

as for Falcons fans not liking Vick because of his race .... i would just like to say this ......... on ESPN Radio this morning, i hear John Kincaid from Atl state that the majority of his callers wanted Shockley to start at QB now instead of Harrington .......... and as i hear, Shockley is black ..... so there goes that theory
